1. The Vineland farm grid (10-25 miles)

2. The Maurice River valley (20-35 miles)
The Maurice River carries a federal Wild and Scenic designation and runs south through the county to the Delaware Bay. Below Millville the valley opens into tidal marsh, wooded bluff, and old oyster country, and the quiet lanes along it are the best riding in Cumberland. Millville itself holds the Glasstown Arts District and WheatonArts, keeping South Jersey's glassmaking tradition alive with a working studio and museum.
3. Parvin State Park (20-30 miles)
West on the Salem County line near Pittsgrove, Parvin State Park is the county's green set piece -- a dark lake ringed by pine and hardwood, with quiet park roads and rustic buildings put up by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. 5. The bayshore: Port Norris and Bivalve (40-55 miles)
The long one. Down the Maurice valley to the old oyster ports on the Delaware Bay. Port Norris was once said to be among the wealthiest towns in New Jersey on the strength of the oyster trade, and the schooner A.J. Meerwald -- New Jersey's official tall ship -- is based at the Bivalve wharves. Remote, flat, and genuinely unlike anywhere else in the state.

6. East Point Lighthouse and the Heislerville dikes (50-65 miles)
The furthest out. East Point Lighthouse at Heislerville stands at the mouth of the Maurice on the edge of open salt marsh -- the second-oldest lighthouse in New Jersey. The Heislerville wildlife management area beside it carries dike roads across impoundments that form one of the major shorebird stopovers on the Atlantic flyway; in May the numbers are extraordinary. It is state wildlife management land with its own access rules and seasonal restrictions -- check before planning a ride onto the dikes.

Half-day and full-day eBike plans
Half day (1-2 hours), the grid: Straight out of Vineland in any direction on the farm roads and back. Ten to twenty-five flat, quiet miles with no planning required.
Half day, the park: West to Parvin State Park for the lake, the pines, and the CCC park roads. The shadiest riding in the county and a proper destination.
Full day, the bayshore: South down the Maurice valley through Millville to Port Norris and the Bivalve wharves. Forty to fifty-five remote miles -- carry water, tools, and battery, because there is very little out there. Riders doing consecutive long days sometimes keep a portable power station for eBike day trips at home for an overnight top-up.

The rules that actually matter here
New Jersey treats low-speed electric bicycles -- broadly Class 1 and Class 2, pedal-assist and throttle up to 20 mph -- much like ordinary bicycles, with no license, registration, or insurance required. Faster Class 3 style machines are a separate legal category with additional requirements.
