A Concord bike and ski shop on South Main Street that has been open since 1976. In winter it rents and tunes skis and snowboards.
What S&W Sports does
S&W Sports started in 1976 on a street corner in the heart of Concord and still describes itself as a community sporting goods store. The shop sells bikes, parts, clothing and car racks, and adds ski and snowboard rentals, tuning and boot fitting in winter. It also runs an annual ski swap.
Bike and eBike rentals
The rental fleet includes Trek gravel and hybrid bikes plus eBikes from Trek, Specialized, Giant and Liv. Fat bikes can be rented on request. Half-day rentals last four hours, with pickup at 10 AM or 2 PM. Daily rentals run up to eight hours inside one business day, and multi-day rates apply beyond that.
Reservations are online only with a credit card. Cancel more than 48 hours before pickup for a refund. Flat pedals come on every bike, and the shop will install your clipless pedals at pickup. Any eBike leaving the shop by car has to ride on an eBike-rated rack, and S&W rents a 2-inch hitch Thule EasyFold if you need one. Late returns cost one extra day's rental for each day.
Service, eBike policy and suspension
Repairs start with a free, no-obligation estimate, and the work is guaranteed for 30 days. The Basic tune-up is $89.99, The Advantage is $169.99 with wheels trued and the drivetrain removed and degreased, and The Dub Deluxe is $299.99 with bearings overhauled. eBike tune-ups carry a $15 fee for updates and diagnostics.
Under the eBike policy in effect since July 2024, S&W services every eBike it sold, plus bikes from elsewhere with Bosch, Shimano, Specialized, Yamaha (Giant and Liv), Fazua, TQ, Mahle, Bafang, Hyena or BEP systems. It does not work on other systems, including basic brake or tire jobs, and for eBikes it did not sell you should take the battery home at drop-off.
Suspension work is done in house by Dan Mutz, who has more than 20 years of experience, on a walk-in basis. A 50-hour fork service is $89.99 and a 100-hour fork service with a damper rebuild is $129.99. Rear shocks are $99.99 and $159.99. The shop has a 4.7 rating from 303 Google reviews.
