2. The Saco valley floor (10-20 miles)
The back roads through Intervale and toward Bartlett, flat by local standards, open, and with the Presidential Range filling the horizon. This is the easy riding in a county that otherwise mostly climbs, and it is the sensible first outing on a rental.

3. Jackson village and the covered bridge (14-20 miles)

4. Pinkham Notch (25-40 miles)
